Office - Rules - Out of office auto reply not working

For some reason my auto reply is not working now...I have had the same set
up for a few years now. But when I set up auto reply the message is sent to
my out box but never gets sent....it just stays there.

this is how I have my rule set up...see link to photo.....any
suggestions...??

First is to update Office 2008 to 12.2.3. There is one combo updater needed.

Entourage 2008 now includes Out of Office. This feature requires a Microsoft
Exchange account.

1)  Set up a mail rule to automatically reply to incoming mail messages
On the Tools menu, click Rules.

2)  Click the arrow next to New , and then click the type of messages that
you want to apply the rule to.

3)  Next to Rule name, type a name for the rule, such as Vacation response.

4)  Under the Add Action button, change Change status to Reply.

5)  Click Reply Text, type the automated reply that you want Entourage to
send, and then click OK.

6)  Make sure that the Enabled check box is selected, and then click OK.
Important

Because mail rules are run by Entourage and not the mail server, you must
leave Entourage running for automatic reply messages to be sent.

7) To turn off the automatic reply messages, on the Tools menu, click Rules,
and then clear the Enabled check box next to the rule.

FWIW, rules can corrupt. Have you deleted the rule and created a new one?
it is possible the entire rules file is corrupt. Remove the file in the
Finder and start new.
