Office - Excel 2003 question

Although in all cells in a row I only have one line of text, when I auto-fit
the row I still get enough for 4 or 5 lines of height.  Can anyone please
tell me what causes that?  Thanks in advance.

Make sure "word wrap" is turned off... Format (menu) | Cells | Alignment (tab)
Remove any characters trailing your text (they might be invisible)
